GPS: must be the current location

S: No idea: Maybe number of satelites?

hi 599xrdp!!

here is the answer as per my knowledge!!:!:
Kindly correct me if i am wrong!

GPS: must be the current location:
a) yes, it displays current location in
----- eastings and northings for GPSMap
----- latitude and longitude for GPSGO

ALT: looks like the altitude in metres
a) absolutely right .. altitude in m

S: No idea: Maybe number of satelites?
a) again rite.,, number of satellites your GPS receiver is in contact and is using for position fix.

P: % No idea: Maybe Signal strength?
a) its the geometric strength of satellite configuration on GPS accuracy in other word termed as dilution of precision as PDOP, HDOP VDOP, meaning positional dilution of precision, horizontal dilution of precision, and vertical dilution of precision respectively.

Here Dr. Matt has kindly used HDOP to arrive at % of precison of gps positioning!

for more info on precison kindly refer this website : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dilution_of_precision_(GPS)
